Made from her mom’s recipe. Always Steve’s favorite dish. Taking it to him this afternoon.

Ben loves Saturday afternoons at Nana/Papa’s house!

Ben and Madi came for some Nana/Papa time Saturday afternoon. I haven’t had a good chance to shoot much with Ben in a while, so I focused on following him around and clicking off shots. He’s a busy boy, so that was quite a job.

Seems like almost every time Ben comes over, he wants some popcorn. The boy just loves popcorn and watching Veggie Tales or Spidey.

And here’s a fun shot without the popcorn, but with some great light while he’s really focused on the TV.

Then we spent some outside time, first checking out the trees, and then just some good old fashioned running around.

Since it got too chilly for Papa pretty quick, we were soon back inside for a little sit at the table and work with the new blocks Nana had bought. For some reason, it even required the computer to figure out how the blocks were supposed to go together!

And of course, sometimes you just have to go crazy, as seen in our last shot for today. Seems that he had a handful of straws and then…well you can just imagine! I think he had a good time!

Baby, It Was Cold Outside!

It was cold in Houston last week, so when the Fam came over for chili Friday night, Madi was all bundled up — and just needed some pictures taken.

Mark and Madi

Turns out she’d gotten a couple of shots that afternoon, so initially she was playing a little shy. But that can have it’s own charm.

I'm hiding here...

But then Aunt Sara started working to warm things up, and guess what? Madi’s famous smile showed up, along with her recently emerged upper teeth!

Once she warmed up, she and Sara got really engaged in looking at something. I don’t remember what it was, but I just loved the expression Madi had when I shot this one.  Cute kid that makes my photos look really good!

Just Some Saturday Afternoon Fun

The Fam came over for lunch on Saturday, and so of course, I took some photos.

I really liked these first two, with Madi riding on Mark’s shoulders.

Her relaxed hands and body position just say “confidence.”

By the next click of the shutter, she had decided show off a little by waving — and showing us the Madi smile.

Right after lunch, Aunt Sara took Ben to his first movie, and Mark and Kathy headed out to do some chores while Madi stayed with Nana and Papa to get some one-on-one time. By late afternoon, we were all worn out, so a nap was in order.

And after nap, of course, it was time for a snack while spending some time with Nana!

And to just wrap up the afternoon, here’s one of Madi seemingly lost in thought. I have that look sometimes, and I bet you do too. But don’t you just wonder what she’s thinking about?
